Summer is officially here, and travel season has begun! Whether you are heading on a city break, a staycation or somewhere hot and sunny these travel tips can help you to feel stress-free and organised when preparing for your trips.
Hydration and Healthy Snacks
Staying hydrated seems like an obvious one, but it’s super easy to forget when out and about seeing the sights or relaxing with a good book to drink enough water! Although during your travels it’s even more so important to drink 6-8 cups of water a day, as guided by the NHS EatWell Guide to keep your body hydrated.
Whether you’re travelling by aeroplane, train, or car, delays can often happen! When we know we are going to be out all day we tend to take snacks or prep our meals, so it’s important to not neglect this when travelling this, Summer. Some healthy snacks you can pack for your car journey or in your hand luggage are:
- Fruit Salad
- Smoothie
- Hummus and Veggies
- Popcorn
- Mixed Nuts
Protect your Skin
SPF is hugely important all year round but more so in the summer months when our skin is exposed to UV rays more often! It’s common to only consider applying SPF first thing in the morning, but reapplying your suncream throughout the day is essential to help prevent sunburn. The NHS recommends to look out for products with the following on the label:
- a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 to protect against UVB
- at least 4-star UVA protection
Make sure to check your sun protection has not passed its expiry date before packing into your luggage!
Keep your Vitamins topped up!
